As a small, geographically isolated country, New Zealand faces some unique challenges. Being small and isolated could also potentially provide some significant opportunities to build a future where people and the environment thrive together. I propose that research and innovation play a crucial role in shaping the future of all nations by providing new knowledge, technologies, and approaches that support sustainable wellbeing. This post explores how research and innovation could contribute to sustainable wellbeing for New Zealanders by highlighting potential future key focus areas.
