Local Body Elections 2025

The 2025 elections have come around quickly and I am asking the public to support me in my bid to continue as the Mayor.

Prior to being elected Mayor of Whakatāne in 2022 I had more than two decades as a science researcher and leader in top-class public service institutions. I have had a terrific career and an established track-record in anyone's book. But being the Mayor has its own set of unique challenges.

Under my leadership as Mayor my council has done everything it has needed to do and some. We have got stuff done and have operated with decorum.

When stood I did of course have an agenda. The overarching objective has been to leave Whakatāne and its people better off. Despite extremely challenging times, I believe we have done our best.
